You know the drill, June is over and it’s time to show you my music favourites. I’m still obsessed with everything house and have picked out some fine tunes that are best enjoyed in sunny weather.
And again in June, I’ve been listening to a lot of fresh house tunes. C’est Nul (Black Loops Remix) by Easy To Remember is just a super effortless, easy-going, smooth house track. I love the dreamy and cool atmosphere of it and it’s a perfect track for summer.
A track that I listened to on repeat in June is Larry Heard’s Deja vu (Musaria Mix). Denis Sulta perfectly mixed this tune into his Glasgow Boiler room set, which I would highly recommend listening to. This track is an absolute banger and creates such a soothing but mysterious atmosphere – a true deep house classic.
Studio Barnhus released two beautiful new tracks in June that will be part of their first label compilation. One of them being Forgot About You (Piano version), a lovely melancholic track consisting of harmonic melodies and unique vocals. There’s still Boman’s typical playfulness and cheekiness to it. I’m very excited for different versions and the compilation to come out.
Studio Barnhus has been my favorite label these past months and I just love pretty much all of their productions. Another great track that I discovered and am obsessed with is In My Heart by Lukas Nystrand von Unge. Nothing but happy disco vibes combined with rhythmic drumming. Do give it a listen, but be careful it’s catchy as hell.
I admit, the songs I loved in June are all pretty similar. Johannes Albert‘s Beach Reach again is right up my street: pure good vibes, great sampling and a groovy rhythm. This tune gets you in a good mood and set for summer in a split second.
A set that I listened to a lot in June is Bicep’s Mix Mag Cover Mix. It’s a beautiful, well selected 50-minute journey of electronic music: deep, vibey and a bit spacey. I’m a huge fan of the duo and their productions in general. For this mix they edited some of the tracks which makes it such a consistent set. Give it a listen!
Favorite night out:
Again, I haven’t been out much in June. A few weeks ago though, I visited Sisyphos in Berlin, which overall was just a beautiful experience. Seeing the transformation of the club was super interesting, after I hadn’t been back there for about a year.
